ALL SAINTS CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

EQUALITY OBJECTIVES 2025 - 2029

All Saints Church of England Primary School is a nurturing and inclusive school where Christian values are at the heart of all we do. We are committed to promoting equality, celebrating diversity, and fostering inclusion in every aspect of school life. All members of our school community are treated fairly and with respect, given equal access to the curriculum and all aspects of school life. Our aim is to develop an ethos in which all pupils, staff, and families can thrive.

Equality Act 2010 – General Duties

In line with the Equality Act 2010, we aim to:

  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment, and victimisation, and any other conduct prohibited by the Act.
  • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
  • Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.

Protected characteristics include: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

Specific Duties

We recognise our specific duties, which assist us in meeting our general duty:

  • To publish information annually showing how we are complying with the Equality Duty, including information on our school population.
  • To publish equality objectives every four years, which set out how we plan to tackle particular inequalities and reduce or remove them.

Equality Objectives

Rooted in our Christian vision, our equality objectives support our mission to value everyone and help all grow together. We aim to:

  1. Close the attainment gap between boys and girls, ensuring every pupil develops the confidence and skills to flourish academically and personally.
  2. Narrow the attendance gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils by fostering a strong sense of belonging and engagement in school life.

Monitoring and Review

We regularly monitor pupil outcomes, attendance, and behaviour to assess the impact of our equality initiatives. Progress towards these objectives is reviewed annually by senior leaders and governors.

Through these efforts, we seek to live out our calling to fan into flame the gift of God in every child, empowering them to thrive with power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:6-7) and make a positive difference in the world.
